The dress and jacket are made of black wool suiting. The jacket has a scoopneck and three-quarter sleeves. Three large buttons down the center front with hand-sewn bound buttonholes. The black silk lining is sewn in by hand. The dress has a wide scoop neckline, long sleeves and is cut with a princess line. The princess seam is sewn to the back hip, where it is embellished with a thin self-fabric bow. The princess line below the bow opens into an interted double pleat. The dress is underlined with a sheer black fabric and closes down the center back with a hand-set zip.
