Lot Description

A Yellow Peking Glass Bowl and Cover
QIANLONG PERIOD (1735-1796)

the flared body rising from short straight foot to lipped mouth rim, carved to the exterior with a pair of taotie masks separated by two geometric phoenix-head and geometric roundels, the domed cover surmounted by a peony-shaped finial, carved in relief with lotus sprays and pierced through the center, the glass in a semi-transparent yellow tone, underside bearing a Qianlong four-character mark.
Diam 4 in., 10 cm.
