Short recoil operated striker action toggle locked autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Barrel extension is dated 1918 with toggle link showing ERFURT maker marking. Item shows Imperial German {Reichsadler} markings to right barrel extension, to barrel, and on breechblock. Item further shows Gothic letter inspection stamps to major parts. Serial numbers match on the majority of components, including the grips, but the firing pin is a non-numbered and non-fluted replacement. Nickel plated magazine has a refinished wood base plug showing a weak nonmatching serial number. {C&R}
