Lot Description
**William Cashmore 12 Gauge Crossbolt Boxlock Ejector Shotgun
12 Gauge. 30" barrel length. SN: 10319. 2.75" chamber length. Improved Modified Left. Overbore Right. Casehardened finish with blued barrels and small parts mounting round knob semi-pistol grip stock and splinter forend featuring bordered multipoint checkering. Double barrel side by side boxlock ejector shotgun with double triggers and twin bead sights. Frame displays traditional English style scroll engraving enclosing WM. CASHMORE maker markings to both sides. Birmingham proof markings to barrel flats and watertables. Right barrel struck WM. CASHMORE. MAKER. BIRMINGHAM with the left marked HIGHEST AWARDS. ADELAIDE MELBOURNE. LAUNCESTON & HOBART. Steelmaker mark to both barrels below handguard reads FLUSSSTAHL KRUPP ESSEN. The interior of the forend is struck PATENT/EJECTOR with a further REG/TRADE MARK stamp. Forend engraving matches the shotgun, and mounts a horn tip. No serial number to forend. Triggerguard and barrels most likely refinished. Rear sight bead has broken off leaving socket behind with the front still intact. Silver escutcheon to comb is unsigned and mounted 1" from recoil pad. Comes with an unmarked leather leg of mutton case. 14" length of pull. 1.5" drop to comb. 2.75" drop to heel. {C&R}
