Lot Description

[LINCOLN WHITE HOUSE]. A French Limoges porcelain dinner plate from the solferino china dinner service used in the Lincoln White House. Limoges, France: Haviland & Co., 1861.

White porcelain with shaped edges gilt and central image of a bald eagle atop an American shield as hand-painted by Edward Lycett. Diam. 8 1/2 in. Plate professionally restored with overpainting to some areas and later applied varnish, now flaking.
