Lot Description

A George III Mahogany and Satinwood Secretary Bookcase
Circa 1790

in two parts, the upper section with broken arch pediment having dentil molding and blind fretwork, centered by carved and pierced cartouche, over two glazed doors revealing bookshelves, the lower section with slant front revealing fitted interior centered by prospect door inlaid with oval fan flanked by drawer slides in the form of Corinthian pilasters, over two short drawers, above three graduated long drawers, on molded base with ogee feet; the top of lower section inscribed in pencil, "George H. Taylor...".

Height 96 1/2 x width 45 1/2 x depth 23 inches.
