On February 17, 2023, as he turned 60, Michael Jordan marked the milestone in signature fashion by making history off the court. He donated a record-setting $10 million to Make-A-Wish America, the largest single gift the organization has ever received.

Jordan’s connection to Make-A-Wish stretches back to 1989, when he granted his very first wish. In the decades since, he has brought joy to children around the world, turning fleeting moments into lifelong memories.

One of those moments came on January 25, 1992. Before the Chicago Bulls defeated the Houston Rockets 114–100, Jordan took time to meet a young fan from Michigan in the Bulls’ locker room at Chicago Stadium. What followed wasn’t just a meet-and-greet, it was an unforgettable, deeply personal experience. The boy, battling Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, spent time with his hero in a private autograph session, sharing cards and memorabilia that Jordan carefully signed.
