The slightly tapering spherical body rises to broad, swelling shoulders surmounted by a short, double-ringed mouth. The exterior is freely painted in iron-oxide with an abstract design of three birds in flight against a speckled, teadust-brown glaze. The glaze stops neatly above the foot ring to reveal the buff body, while the countersunk base remains glazed.
