Late Qing Dynasty-Republic Period

Most feature a qilin presenting a boy, a traditional motif symbolizing blessings of longevity and offspring. Some with agate pendants. Crafted during the late Qing Dynasty into the Republican period, these “long-life lock” charms were worn by children as protective talismans, reflecting the era’s rich symbolism and meticulous silversmithing.
Length of double lion 3 3/4 in.; 9.5 cm. Approximate gross weight: 343.4 grams.
