Lot Description

A Chinese Eight-Panel Coromandel Screen, Qing Dynasty
清乾隆乙未(1775) 款彩鹤鹿同春图八扇屏
Qing Dynasty (1644-1911)

The front is elaborately carved and painted in polychrome, illustrating a festive scene with officials, scholars, and attendants gathered in pavilions, welcoming immortals descending from the sky and arriving across the sea to join the celebration. The reverse is inscribed with a Qianlong cyclical date, lunar year yiwei (1775), and a dedication by Ding Richang, who was serving as Governor of Jiangsu at the time.
款识:鹤鹿同春,乾隆乙未(1775)吴江丁日昌献。
注:丁日昌为时任江苏巡抚。
Height of each panel 80 3/4 x width 15 1/2 in., 205.5 x 39.5 cm.
