The front is finely carved and painted with a continuous scene depicting a joyous gathering of figures on a fenced terrace and within pavilions. All bordered by foliate scrolls above a row of fan-shaped panels enclosing scholars, which rests over a lower register of medallions featuring mythical beasts. The reverse is carved with inscriptions detailing "The 18 Scenic Spots of Jinling" (金陵十八景) all situated above various auspicious objects.
