Lot Description
**Springfield Armory M1 Garand Rifle
.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 623638. Parkerized arsenal refinish with CMP replacement walnut semi-pistol grip stock mounting T105 pattern sights. Long stroke piston driven gas operated rifle fed by an internal magazine charged with en bloc clips. Receiver serial number dates to May 1942 production, with the rifle having been updated after the end of World War II. Rifle mounts a relief cut operating rod showing a clipped drawing number, indicating it was modified at the arsenal. Barrel dated S-A-5-50, indicating it was made in May, 1950 by Springfield Armory. Left stock is struck with the CMP stamp, with no circle P to wrist. Mounts a leather sling. {C&R}
