Receiver serial number dates to May 1942 production, with the rifle having been updated after the end of World War II. Rifle mounts a relief cut operating rod showing a clipped drawing number, indicating it was modified at the arsenal. Barrel dated S-A-5-50, indicating it was made in May, 1950 by Springfield Armory.
