US Model 1860 Spencer Carbine
American Civil War

.56-56 Spencer RF. 20" barrel. SN: 52682. No finish remaining, iron furniture, walnut stock and forend. Repeating lever action manually cocked carbine with tubular magazine in butt, M1860 military ladder rear sight, Barleycorn front sight, saddle bar with ring and sling swivels. Standard receiver markings are weak, no visible cartouches in wood. While this particular carbine is not listed in the Springfield Research Service serial number books, the closest guns to it, #52,668, #52,674 and #52,709 were all issued to the 14th Kansas Volunteer Cavalry. {ANTIQUE}
