Composite Whitney Enfield Variant Rifle Musket With Confederate Blockade Numbered Enfield Buttplate

.59 caliber smoothbore. 40" barrel. NSN. Bright finish, brass furniture, walnut stock. Single shot percussion muzzleloading rifle musket with added M1873 Trapdoor rear sight, Barleycorn front sight, three solid barrel bands retained by springs, sling swivels and an iron ramrod. Standard Whitney lock markings. A Confederate blockade run Pattern 1853 Enfield buttplate engraved 990/A has been installed on the gun, possibly during the period of use.
