Lockmaker mark has been worn down with only the WARRANTED mark remaining legible. Barrel affixed with a brass nameplate engraved with the maker mark N. MOLL within wiggle line borders, indicating it was produced by Pennsylvania gunmaker Nathan Moll (1814-1882). The son of Johannes (John) Moll, Nathan Moll learned the gunmaking trade from his elder brother John Moll, Jr. in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
