New-York: Printed by Daniel Fanshaw, 1822. First edition. 4to. 16 pp. Original stab-sewn gatherings, thread intact, wear along extremities, creasing from when folded, small holes along horizontal fold of first leaf; dampstaining in corners throughout; foxing and spotting throughout. Shoemaker 8192
Rare first edition of this poem written in celebration of President George Washington's 90th birthday, penned by American dentist Solyman Brown (1790-1876).
According to RBH, this is only the third copy to come to auction since 1989. OCLC locates only four copies, at Yale, the University of Michigan, the Huntington Library, and the Society of the Cincinnati Library.
