Oversized quarter-plate daguerreotype (3 5/8 x 4 1/4") of a lovely smiling lass with lightly red tinted cheeks, blue tinting to the table cloth and a "golden" fob.
 
She looks directly into the camera with a "knowing smile". Perhaps intended for a lover, this circa mid-1840s image resides in a Plumbe National Daguerreian Depot, New York, "Lyre" case with an intact but weak hinge. The daguerreotype, likely made in NYC, is in excellent condition.
