Attributed to Jan van der Moyen, Second Quarter 16th Century
woven in wool and silk, depicting King Astyages brandishing a sword and placing his general Harpagus in command of his army, the scene unfolding under the gaze of courtiers, the background showing the meeting of two friendly armies in a hilly landscape, within a border decorated with ribbon-tied fruiting floral festoons.
