[EXONUMIA] Ten Silver and Silvered-Metal Commemorative Medallions of French Interest
comprising:
1) A restrike commeorating the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre with a portrait bust of Charles IX on obverse, the reverse depicting Charles IX enthroned atop massacred Huguenots (33.4 g, 37mm).
2) An example dated 1764 by Charles Norbert Roëttiers (1720-1772) commemorating the church of St. Genevieve in Paris, the obverse with the order of St. Michael, the reverse with an architectural rendering of the Church as it was planned (33.6 g, 42mm).
3) An example by Jean Henri Simon and date 1790 depicting a pelican vulning in her piety with the motto Francias Sous Cet Embleme Adoréz Votre Roi, the reverse with the inscription Ce Bon Peuple qui M'est Cher, Et dont on m'assure que je suis aime, quand on veut me consoler de mes peines./Discours de Louis XVI a l'Assemble NAtional le 4 Fevrier 1790 (78.1 g, 54mm).
4) An example with the obverse decorated with a portrait bust of an unidentified woman and the inscription Eliz. Char Rhe Duciss Aurel, the reverse with a fruit tree within a garden and the inscription Non Solius Veris Honos (35.0 g, 44mm).
