[EXONUMIA] A Group of Five Commemorative Medallions Relating to English Monarchs
comprising:
1) A bronze example by John Roettiers (1631-1701) with a portrait bust of Charles I on obverse, the reverse with a commemorative scene mourning Charles I's execution (51.4 g, 50 mm).
2) A silvered metal with a portrait bust of William III and Mary II and dated '1689' on obverse, the reverse with an allegorical scene of the personification of England and the House of Orange-Nassau embracing (63.1 g, 59mm).
3) A silvered-metal example of Jacobite interest with a portrait bust of James Francis Edward Stuart and the motto 'Unica Salus' on obverse, the reverse with an allegorical scene of the White Horse of Hanover trampling symbols of England beneath the motto 'Quid Gravius Capta' and dated 'MDCCXXI' (49.6 g, 50mm).
4) a silvered-metal example with a portrait bust of George I on obverse, the reverse decorated with a scene of the White Horse of Westphalia leaping over a map of Europe toward the British Isles (30.0 g, 44mm).
5) a bronze example commemorating George III surviving the assassination attempt of May 15, 1800 (28.1 g, 39mm).
