Britain 20th Decemr 1743/ Died in Middletown in Connecticut America 17th March 1819."; the second inscribed, "Samuel Watkinson drawn by T.H. Wentworth June 1820. From an Original Painting by Tisdale in 1800./ Born at Sibble Heddingham Essex in Great Britain 1st of July 1745./ Died at Middletown Middlesex in Connecticut 26th October 1816," graphite and watercolor on paper.
