A Chippendale Figured and Carved Walnut Desk-and-Bookcase
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Circa 1765
in two parts, the upper section with flat molded cornice having dentil and blind-fret caving, over two paneled doors revealing bookshelves and compartments, the lower section with molded top over slant front revealing fitted interior displaying shell-carved doors and prospect door, over four graduated long drawers flanked by quarter columns, on molded base with ogee feet.
Height 88 x width 43 1/4 x depth 24 inches.
