8vo. Original red cloth in white lettering with illustration stamped in blue and white; DUST JACKET (minor loss to spine, very light chipping along extremities, minor toning).

Extract from Captain Stormfield's Visit to Heaven was originally published in Harper's Magazine in December 1907 and January 1908, although it is believed to have been written nearly forty years earlier; Twain himself would describe it as a parody of The Gates Ajar, a very popular 1868 novel by Elizabeth Stuart Phelps Ward.
