8vo. Original lime-green buckram [first state binding], spine stamped in gilt and black (slight lean, some light toning to extremes); dust jacket (few small short closed tears or creases, tiny chips to spine ends). Provenance: Peter Howard of Serendipity Books (material laid in).
FIRST AMERICAN EDITION of Nabokov's first work published in the United States. The first English translation was published in London in 1935 under the title Camera Obscura. Nabokov undertook the translation of this American edition after being displeased with the first English translation by Winifred Roy.
