Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. Sixth plate daguerreotype of a photographer posed with an American-made chamfered box camera atop a wooden tripod.
A distinguished gentleman sits upright, posing at a slight angle to appear as though he is operating his camera, with one hand on the top of the box and one hand resting on his thigh. Likely depicting a photographer by trade, this image showcases the subject's poise both behind and in front of the camera lens. Image retains original seals.
Housed in a half pressed paper case (surface loss, wear).
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
