softly tanned, thick hide, sinew-sewn and beaded with colors of medium and dark blue, greasy yellow, green, white, and red white-heart; hide is coated with yellow pigment

overall length 54 inches; length of longest fringe, 14 inches

Included is a handwritten note of provenance: This gun case was made by Elizabeth Run[sic] the Enemy, a full-blood Sioux Indian girl, and is the property of A.P. Darling.

Elizabeth Runs the Enemy is listed in the 1884 Cheyenne River Agency census as the daughter of Abraham Runs the Enemy and Lucy The Cloud.
