Great Lakes Quilled Knife Sheath, with Cartouche Knife
early 19th century
sinew sewn, softly-tanned hide; finely wrapped lanes of quillwork in colors of white, blue, yellow, and orange; hide is coated with deep blue pigment and edged using red wool and white glass beads; sheath is pierced through at opening for neck strap; brass handled, cartouche-style knife with Damascus blade
