Central Plains Ledger Drawings
second half 19th century
31 drawings in larger frame, plus two front/back drawings in a smaller frame; likely Sioux or Cheyenne, created by two different artists.
The first fifteen images, drawn by one hand, depict various battle scenes with the US Army, including capturing horses, killing soldiers, and taking scalps.
The remaining images, by a second hand, focus on scenes of stealing ponies along with several battle vignettes, including a duel with settlers
