A Fine Painting of Radha Meeting Krishna at the Hour of Cowdust, Godhuli, Punjab Hills, 19th Century

Opaque pigments and gold on paper, depicting Krishna greets his beloved Radha outside towering palace walls as the cows and cowherds enter through a great arched gateway at the close of day, the “hour of cowdust”, two court ladies in a pavilion in the distance, the inner border with colored and gilt highlighted floral scrolls, the outer margins pink.
Painting 9 1/2 x 13 in., 24.13 x 33.02 cm; folio 12 1/4 x 15 1/2 in., 31.1 x 39.37 cm.
