A Sino-Tibetan Gilt Bronze Figure of Avalokiteshvara, 19th/20th Century
十九/二十世紀 藏傳鎏金菩薩
19th/20th Century

The deity cast seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base, both hands in vajrahumkara mudra, holding the stems of two lotus flanking the arms, wearing a loose dhoti with a scarf covering his shoulders, the naked upper torso adorned with beaded jewelry inlaid with hardstone, the face with a serene expression framed by an urna and large circular earrings, all hair pulled into a high chignon secured by a five-part tiara with hardstone embellishments.
Height 12 in., 30.5 cm.
