A Pair of Chinese Gold 'Peony' Earrings, Erqian, Qing Dynasty

Qing Dynasty (1644-1911)
Each earring is adorned with a finely cut and chased peony blossom to the flattened hoop with a ruyi head terminal, narrowing to a wire pin for threading through the earlobe. The interior of the hook is stamped with an indistinct two-character mark.

這類圓環形耳環造型簡潔輕便,多和常服相配。在清代愈發流行,即環形耳鉗。環面可做各種裝飾,如這對可在牡丹紋中點翠,花心留有小孔以便穿珠。
