[Art] Matisse, Henri. Jazz
New York: George Braziller, Inc. (for the Museum of Modern Art), (1983). First facsimile edition. Large folio. Introduction by Riva Castleman; Jazz text translated into English by Sophie Hawkes. Illustrated with facsimile manuscript and 20 facsimile off-set color lithographed prints (many double-page), on wove paper, by Matisse, after the 1947 Paris edition. Text and prints loose as issued in publisher's stiff printed wrappers; in original quarter blue cloth over grey paper-covered fall-down-back box, stamped in silver, printed paper cover label, lightly worn. Publisher's prospectus laid in.
A near-fine copy of the Museum of Modern Art's 1983 facsimile edition of Henri Matisse's legendary 1947 work, Jazz.
