Venice: Francesco Ziletti, 1580. Second edition in Italian. 4to. (xxiv), 78, 81-186, 189-192, (1) pp.; lacking E8 and M5. With 65 (of 67) full-page engraved illustrations, and a woodcut device on title-page, as well as woodcut initials and head-pieces; lacking the two full-page illustrations at E8v and M5v. Old limp vellum, manuscript title in ink along spine, yapp fore-edges, ties perished, covers yellowed and soiled; all edges untrimmed; contemporary inscription at foot of title-page crossed out; spotting and soiling to text and illustrations; loss in lower fore-edge B2, but not affecting text; scattered wear along edges of leaves; faint dampstaining in upper edges of some leaves at rear. The expanded Italian edition of Nicolas de Nicolay's important survey on Turkish costume and dress. First published in French in 1567 in Lyon with 60 plates, the first edition in Italian appeared in Antwerp in 1576.
