First edition of this important account of French scientist Louis Éconches Feuillée's (1660-1732) expedition to South America, including his detailed observations on astronomical, botanical, and animal life in Argentina, Chile, and Peru, and elsewhere. Included is an account of the so-called Feuillée monster, a cyclopean sheep that he was purportedly permitted to observe while in Buenos Aires. A third, supplementary volume, was published in 1725, and is not always found.
