A near-complete run of Caresse Crosby's ill-fated Crosby Continental Editions (CCE) series. Begun in 1931 as a competitor to the popular Tauchnitz Editions, CCE sought to provide inexpensive paperback reprints of avant-garde and modernist literature. Her enterprise faced competition with the emergence of Albatross Books (also in 1932), and Caresse ceased publishing under the imprint by the end of 1932 after publishing only 10 titles. It was briefly reprised in the United States following World War II, but published only three titles (one being a reissue).
