Alexander McQueen, Damask & Print Coat, A/W 1997
A similar version of this coat is seen on the runway in the autumn/winter 1997 "It's A Jungle Out There" ready-to-wear collection by Lee McQueen for Alexander McQueen.
Additionally, there is a similar version of this coat in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, England (Accession #T.90:1, 2-2011).
Three-quarter length coat of black & gold polyester/cotton-blend damask; featuring a panel printed with an image from the central panel of the Hans Memling Triptych placed on the lower left portion of the coat's skirt. Notched & peaked lapels. Padding at shoulders. Full-length set-in sleeves with decorative buttons at cuffs. Inverted box pleat at back hem. One upper chest welt pocket; one interior welt pocket. Concealed button closures at front. Fully lined.
