Lot Description
Zandra Rhodes, Painted Silk Dress & Pleated Silk Purse
Worn during King Charles’ (then Prince Charles) visit to Chicago for the “Eagle and the Crown” British promotion event at Marshall Field & Company. Mrs. Smith was photographed in this gown alongside Prince Charles and Marshall Field’s chairman, Phil Miller, for the Chicago Tribune.
THE FIRST
Full-length dress in red silk chiffon with multicolor hand-painted designs throughout. Circular bead embellishments at collar and sleeve edges. Wide scoop neckline with ruffle trim. Elbow-length flutter sleeves. Elasticated waist. Gathered A-line skirt. No closures. Fully lined.
