the design incorporating decorative plaques after John Flaxman, R.A. (1755-1826) depicting classical scenes of trumpeting tritons celebrating the union of Poseidon and the sea goddess Amphitrite, with an intertwined serpent handle;
stamped underfoot with Bailey, Banks and Biddle retailer's marks, S.7428, and Sterling.
