Unusually large leaf from the Qur’an written with beautiful calligraphy
332 x 271 mm. Single leaf from a Qur’an, written in Arabic, on thirteen lines to the page in naskh script in black ink, with black and red diacritical markings, and gold, red and green floral verse markers, the large marginal ornaments marking the divisions of the text, rendered in gold and encircled in blue and white.
The text of the recto begins in the middle of verse 56, Surah An-Noor, ... وأطيعوا الرسول لعلكم ترحمون / 'and obey the Messenger so that you may receive mercy.'
