A Wedgwood Black Basalt Figure of a Lion Couchant
Late 18th/Early 19th Century

One of a pair of lion figures manufactured by Wedgwood, which are modeled after a pair of Egyptian lion statues installed at the base of the stairs leading to the Campidoglio in Rome; with impressed Wedgwood stamp.
Height 5 x width 9 x depth 2 3/4 inches.
