Chicago: Paul Theobold, 1961. First edition. Presentation copy, inscribed by Bayer on title-page: "for George Cullen with many thanks for all your time and your good advice Herbert 1965 Aspen". 4to. Illustrated with 42 plates by Bayer. Plates and letterpress loose as issued in stiff white wrappers, library label along spine; library ink stamp on inner front wrapper, library pencil notations on same and on title-page; blindstamp on upper title-page; closed tear in fore-edge of final plate; library ink stamp and large blank label covering library pocket on inner rear wrapper; in original orange paper-board slip case, library label on lower spine.

Publisher's full purple velvet-covered boards, stamped in silver; pictorial endpapers; in black cloth slip case.
