Original paper vellum gilt, top edge gilt, all others uncut rubbing, toning and mild spotting at top edge, one inch vertical split at top of spine; original blue dust jacket, loss to spine head, darkening to spine. bookseller's ticket, Brentano's New York .
Suspense was the last novel Joseph Conrad worked on during his lifetime; he passed away in August 1924 having written approximately 90,000 words of it.
