[Law] Rastell, John. Les Termes de la Ley, or Certain Difficult and Obscure Words and Terms of the Common Law and Statutes of This Realm Now in Use Expounded and Explained

London: Printed John Streater, et al, 1671. 8vo (178 x 102 mm). Contemporary full morocco, spine rebacked, hinges reinforced, rubbing, penned inscription on page edge; very light toning, repaired tear to frontis verso, ink inscriptions to title page. Wing R291.

Les Termes de la Ley is a legal glossary which was originally printed as Expositiones terminorum legum Angliae in 1527. The work was originally published in Law French and was so successful that it was later translated into English by Rastell's son William and further expanded upon in subsequent years.
