The first includes a penciled notation on verso, "Grand Review of the Great Veteran Armies of Grand and Sherman at Washington on the 23 and 24th May 1865." The second includes a penciled notation on mount recto, "Another view of the position occupied by Gen. Grant and the President at Great (?) Review (?)." -- CDV, "Capitol of the United States (Fronting the City)" as captioned on applied paper label on verso.
