[NATIVE AMERICANS]. A group of 45+ postcards of Native Americans, incl. real photo postcards.
Lot comprised of approx. 45 real photo postcards and lithographed postcards, approx. 5 1/2 in. x 3 1/2 in., or smaller, some unused, featuring Native American subjects, including studio portraits, informal outdoor views, ceremonies, and dwellings. Many of the scenes are identified in the negative.
Highlighted titles/scenes include: "Marie" of San Ildefonso Indian Pueblo, New Mexico. -- "After the Big War Dance," by R.D. Hemphill. -- "Out West Up to Date," showing a Native American man driving his companion in an automobile. -- "The Four Greatest Chiefs Now Living, the Original Great American," by W.H. Martin. -- "Cowboy Trading with Indians - Sign Language," by W.H. Martin. -- Sioux Indians at Pine Ridge Agency. -- Sitting Bull and Buffalo Bill. -- "A Pawnee Squaw and Papoose." -- "A group of Nez Perce War Chiefs, Idaho." -- Approx. 14 lithographed portraits of Native American subjects, many after photographs taken by F.A.
