Oval bust photograph showing Curley in profile, wearing beaded necklaces, a large hoop earring in his right ear, and fur-wrapped braids. Mount verso with imprint of Herrin, East Portland, OR, and title, "Curley, Bust, Custer's Scout." Originally taken by D.F. Barry.

A richly toned portrait of Curley, a scout to George Custer and survivor of the Battle of Little Big Horn. The Crow scout was the first to report on the 7th Cavalry's defeat.
