Seated portrait of "California Hunter and Trapper, who presented President Lincoln with the Elk-Horn Chair," Seth Kinman, dressed in fringed hide and holding his long gun in his lap (toning, entire card clipped into a crude circle, some additional wear and soiling). Washington, DC: Brady, 1864. Caption and copyright on mount recto, Brady's imprint on verso. -- Full standing portrait of Kinman resting against and holding the barrel of his gun upward (some spotting to print; mount with soiling and light wear). Washington, DC: Brady, 1865. Caption and copyright on mount recto, Brady's imprint on verso. -- Image of the "Elk Horn Chair, Presented to Pres't Lincoln by Seth Kinman, California Hunter" (toning, spotting, few abrasions to print; mount with soiling and light wear). Washington, DC: Alex Gardner, 1864. Caption and copyright on mount recto, Gardner's imprint with publishing credit to Philp & Solomons on verso along with 2-cent revenue stamp which appears to be initialed "AG," possibly for Gardner. -- Together, 3 CDVs.
Seth Kinman (1815-1888) presented the elk horn chair to President Lincoln on Nov. 26, 1864.
