Lot Description
An Original 1960 Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions On Site Program Featuring Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali)
Between February 29 and March 9, 1960, a young Cassius Clay—just six months away from winning Olympic gold in Rome—stepped into the ring at Chicago Stadium for the 33rd Annual Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions.
Representing Louisville, Kentucky, the future Muhammad Ali dazzled the crowd with four consecutive victories, capturing the heavyweight title in one of amateur boxing’s most prestigious events.
Offered here is the official 8-page on-site program, listing Clay among the tournament's participants—a rare and significant relic from the formative days of a fighter who would go on to become “The Greatest.”
An exceptional and seldom-seen piece from the early ascent of a global icon.
This lot is located in Chicago.
