[ARTIST BOOKS]. -- [XXe SIECLE]. A group of 14 issues of XXe Siecle magazine. c. 1958-1966.
14 volumes, 8vo. Original cloth and wraps (rubbing, soiling).
XXe Siecle was founded by Italian art historian Gualtieri di San Lazzaro shortly after the end of the Second World War. Published in service of Gualtieri's "democratization of art" ideals, the magazine included original lithograph prints by artists such as Enrico Baj, Marc Chagall, Jean Dubuffet, Max Ernst, Maurice Esteve, Hans Hartung, Wilfredo Lam, Alberto Magnelli, Henri Matisse, Joan Miro, Serge Poliakoff, and others.
