FIRST EDITION. INSCRIBED BY RHODE on the front free endpaper: "To L.A.W. who may be relieved that his financial activities did not lead to a seat on the board of Porslin Ltd. John Rhode, July '37." The novel, featuring armchair detective Lancelot Priestley, follows the suspicious deaths of directors at the powerful Porslin Ltd, unraveling a complex plot of corporate intrigue and murder.
